“Our goal was and continues to be to find a way to honor and respect the achievements of our students that are the result of a lot of hard work. It is our hope that our plan will create a worthy tribute to the Class of 2020 with special, historic and unique memories that will bond this class together forever.”
~ EVHS Principal, Bruce Miller
Graduate Car Processional
The processional on Saturday, June 6 will include our faculty and staff along the
processional path to celebrate our graduates and will be led and supported by our
Apple Valley Police Department and Apple Valley Fire Department.
Graduates are asked to sign up for a time to enter the car processional at
https://ptcfast.com/schools/EVHS2020. The first wave of cars will start at 4:30pm
with additional waves at 15 minute intervals to allow for safe and effective spacing.
Please limit participation to one graduate and household per vehicle (multiple
graduates in the same household may choose to ride together or separately).
Cars will line up for the processional in the Apple Valley Family Aquatic Center parking lot (14421 Johnny Cake Ridge Road). We ask that graduates follow the schedule by arriving at/as close to the time selected as possible and remain inside vehicles at the Aquatic Center and on the Eastview High School Campus.
Virtual Graduation Ceremony
The Class of 2020 graduates will be honored in a virtual ceremony that will be
streamed online at 7:00pm on Saturday, June 6. This virtual ceremony will include
Ms. Campbell Bernstein as our student speaker (who auditioned for and earned this
privilege), Ms. Mary Carberry, as our student selected faculty speaker, music by our
Concert Choir, Principal Bruce Miller, Board of Education member Craig Angrimson,
and Mr. Zach Prax and Ms. Joy Hanson reading the names of every graduating student as a photo of students with their name & honors (Eastview awarded academic regalia) are displayed. The video will remain online and can be viewed by friends and family at any time.
Individual Diploma Presentation
Each graduate will have the opportunity to receive their diploma in an individual diploma ceremony at Eastview High School on June 6, 7, 8 or 9.
Graduates may bring up to four family members with them to celebrate this special moment. Students will wear their cap, gown and EVHS issued academic regalia. Students should bring their iPads & chargers, textbooks, band instruments, music concert attire, and any other learning materials to return during this time; any fees/fines will be collected as well (cash or check only, please).
Graduates will receive their diploma and have their full name announced as they approach the graduation stage. Family members may take photos of the grad with their diploma and as they move their tassel from right to left, marking the transition from high school to the next phase of their journey. Only graduates will be allowed on the stage; family photos will need to be taken off campus before or after the diploma presentation.
Public health parameters will be followed; social distancing protocol and masks must be worn (and removed for a photo, if desired). We will have masks available upon entrance to the building. Students choosing not to attend this presentation will have their diploma mailed to them. If students are unable to attend, more information will be provided for additional times to return learning materials on June 10 and 11 (iPads, chargers, textbooks, etc).
Although the COVID-19 guidelines
related to physical distancing and
large group gatherings have changed our graduation plans for the Class of 2020, we have a 3-part plan to honor and celebrate our graduates in a special and memorable way. This

Need help with special accommodations?
If a graduate needs transportation to accommodate any of items, please contact Ann DeMarco at email@example.com. Also, if a graduate is high-risk or lives with someone who is high-risk and cannot come to Eastview, we can certainly make a special plan for that situation as well. Please contact Ms. DeMarco for more information.
“This plan honors our incredible
graduates as we strive to provide a safe experience for them and their families. The most important thing is to share our appreciation and pride for the Class of 2020. Our entire community celebrates their success. We are incredibly proud of their strength and resilience, and we know
they will continue to make the world a better place.”
~ Superintendent Mary Kreger
“Our graduates are a special group having completed their high school learning in a whole new way that
required selflessness, resilience and independence like no other time. While doing their part to protect our
community, they have completed their high school journey without many of our traditional final
milestones. It is our expectation that our plan will recover some of what has been lost. We also believe
that this time has been a defining moment for our special Class of 2020 and one for which they will always
be respected and commemorated.”
~ EVHS Principal, Bruce Miller
Below are the details for your graduation celebrations. Our goal was and continues to be to find a way to honor and respect the achievements of your class as a result of all your hard work. It is our hope that this plan will create a worthy tribute to your Class of 2020 with special, historic and unique memories that will bond you together forever.
This plan addresses three components of a traditional graduation ceremony. We believe we will accomplish three special rituals and traditions in our celebration:
- a way for you and your teachers to celebrate together at Eastview,
- a regal and honorary ceremony recognizing each of you that can be a shared experience with your parents/guardians, and
- a diploma presentation with an opportunity for a traditional photo in cap, gown and Eastview awarded academic regalia.
NOTE: Each of these opportunities are optional. If a you need transportation to accommodate any of these items, please contact Ann DeMarco at firstname.lastname@example.org. Also, if you live with someone who is high-risk and cannot come to Eastview, we can certainly make a special plan for that situation as well. Please contact Ms. DeMarco for more information.
Cap, Gown and Regalia, Locker Items Pickup
Caps, gowns and Eastview issued academic regalia will be available for curbside distribution. You can sign up for a pick-up time by clicking here and are asked to follow the schedule by arriving at the selected time. This will also be a time for graduates to collect items left in their locker, or return any textbooks and iPads & chargers that are no longer being used. If locker contents need to be picked up, please indicated this by adding a special request during sign-up so we can have items ready for you for curbside pickup. Students will sign up for times to pick up their items by clicking here.
- The pickup location will be near the curb near the students entrance (between the building and the bus corral).
- Based upon the sign up times academic lockers will be cleared and belongings bagged in advance.
- For athletic/PE lockers, students will be allowed, one at a time, to enter the building to retrieve their items.
Graduate Processional: Saturday, June 6
A tradition at Eastview is that our faculty leads graduates in their processional to graduation and sits with them during the ceremony. We believe this celebrates our sense of community and further galvanizes the relationships our faculty have developed with our students. For this, we invite you together with your families to participate in a processional through our Eastview campus on Saturday, June 6 beginning at 4:30pm. Please limit participation to one graduate and household per vehicle (multiple graduates in the same household may choose to ride together or separately). In order to safely and effectively space out the processional, we ask that your sign up for arrival times and again ask that you follow the schedule by arriving at/as close to the time selected as possible. The processional will include our faculty and staff along the processional path to celebrate you and will be led and supported by our Apple Valley Police Department and Apple Valley Fire Department.
- You will sign up for times to enter the processional by clicking here.
- Cars will line up for the processional in the Apple Valley Family Aquatic Center parking lot (14421 Johnny Cake Ridge Road).
- Everyone must remain in their cars and will be led in a procession by the Apple Valley Police Department.
Virtual Graduation Ceremony: Saturday, June 6

This virtual ceremony will include Ms. Campbell Bernstein as our student speaker (who auditioned for and earned this privilege), Ms. Mary Carberry, as our student selected faculty speaker, Board of Education member Craig Angrimson, music by our Concert Choir performed virtually, and Mr. Zach Prax and Ms. Joy Hanson reading the names of every graduating student as a photo of each student with their name & honors (Eastview awarded academic regalia) are displayed.
