Freshmen Class Visits

Counselors visited with freshmen classes on September 10th and 11th. They welcomed the students to Eastview and introduced themselves as the Counseling Staff.  They covered different academic and personal topics ranging from how to schedule a meeting, credits, GPA, and starting good habits to encourage a strong start to the year.

The College Application Process

  • Counselors will be meeting in groups with seniors starting the week September 16th to walk through the college application process, learn how to send official transcripts and materials, and ask questions of their counselor. This important information can also be referenced on the Counseling Website.
  • The Counseling Office will begin to process college materials and transcript requests on Monday, September 16th.

To support this initiative we are hosting our ‘Senior Application Genius Hour’ on Monday, October 28th in the East and West Labs. Genius hour will take place periods 1-7 and after school.

Seniors can utilize the genius hour for assistance on their applications from Eastview Counselors and College Admissions Representatives, edit college essays, send transcripts, start the FAFSA and/ or apply for scholarships. Plus, there will be tons of college giveaways!

Many colleges waive the application fee during this month. Check out the list here.

College Visits To Eastview High School

Hundreds of colleges visit EVHS each year. See the calendar of upcoming visits on the Naviance homepage under ‘What’s New’ and register to attend. Many college events and seminars around town are also advertised here. College visits are also advertised on the daily announcements.

Mental Health Support

The start of the school year can bring some stress and anxiety for many. There are many great resources found at the Minnesota Teen Mental Health Directory for students and families. We all have mental health and need to make it just as much a priority as our physical health!

View these resources and more at:

We encourage starting the year with good sleep and healthy eating habits, limiting technology use before bed. As this can be difficult - try charging your phone overnight outside of your bedroom.

Please let us know if you have any questions. The Counseling Department can be reached at 952.431.8914. Have a great fall!
