District 196 high school students demonstrated exceptional talent on the global stage at the HOSA-Future Health Professionals’ International Leadership Conference (ILC), held June 17–20 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Among a field of 15,000 student competitors from around the world, two District 196 students earned top international honors:

• Jonathan Rubin secured 1st Place in the Epidemiology competitive event.
• Kingston Luu-Nguyen placed 6th in the Healthy Living competitive event.

This outstanding performance marks the third consecutive year that District 196 students have placed in the top 10 internationally at ILC, highlighting the district’s strong career and technical education foundation.

Highlighting Future Healthcare Leaders

HOSA is an international, student-led organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Department of Health and Human Services. It promotes career opportunities in the health industry and enhances the delivery of quality healthcare to all people.

A total of 38 District 196 students earned the opportunity to compete at this year's national conference:
