The Rosemount High School girls’ soccer team defeated Edina 1-0 to win the Class AAA state championship early Friday morning, Nov. 4, at US Bank Stadium.
Rosemount defeated St. Michael-Albertville in the quarterfinal round of the state tournament, then avenged its only loss of the season by defeating Stillwater 1-0 in semifinals to advance to the title game. Eighteen of Rosemount’s 21 wins this season were shutouts, including the championship game.
Heimerl, Payne, Olivia Bohl and Jordan Hecht were named to the Class AAA All-Tournament Team. Heimerl also earned All-State honors along with Hecht, Grace Bartlam and Rilyn Rintoul.
Other members of the team are Ella Degrote, Sydney Gilbertson, Ava Grate, Skylar Heimerl, Clare Henderson, Ella Johnson, Logan Kamiel, Chloe Magill, Molly Miller, Samantha Moseng, Jessica Oliver, Ava Thompson, Lisette Thurman, Delaney Tuttle and Allison Wrobleski.
