Rosemount and Eastview High School Marching Bands Finish Top Two in State

ROSEMOUNT, Minn. — As the 2025 marching band season comes to a close, both Eastview High School and Rosemount High School have much to celebrate after a series of outstanding performances and achievements at state and regional competitions.

In state competition on October 11 at U.S. Bank Stadium, Rosemount High School finished first and Eastview High School finished second.

The Eastview High School Marching Band wrapped up its season following major competitions and several spirited halftime performances at home football games. This year’s show, “Feel the Rhythm,” captivated audiences and judges alike with its energy, artistry, and precision.

In addition to earning second place in State competition at the Youth in Music Championships, Eastview brought home a first-place trophy from the Festival of Bands Regional Competition in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

At the Youth in Music Championships at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, the Rosemount High School Marching Band earned first place overall and claimed the Class AAAA Minnesota State Championship title for the 18th year. Performing its 2025 field show, “Rhapsody,” the band also received top honors for Outstanding Color Guard and Outstanding Visual Performance. After earning the Class AAAA title in the preliminary round, Rosemount advanced to the Grand Championship Finals, where it placed first overall among the top 12 bands from across the Upper Midwest.

Earlier in the season, Rosmeount also won the Eastview High School Marching Band Festival and the Bands of America Regional Competition in Waukee, Iowa.

Under the direction of Leon Sieve, Scott Palmer, Taylor Eliason, and Calvin Lipetzky, Rosemount’s continued success reflects the dedication, discipline, and teamwork of its student musicians and staff.

“This group has worked so hard on our show for months,” said Director Leon Sieve. “Their dedication, discipline, and heart are what make this program so special. To see it all come together on this stage and defend their title year after year is incredibly rewarding.”

Concluding its season, Rosemount traveled to the Bands of America Super Regional in St. Louis, Missouri, on October 17–18, finishing ninth overall among 65 top bands representing 16 states.

Adding to its list of honors, the Rosemount High School Marching Band has been invited to perform in the 2027 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California—an announcement made earlier this year during their Minnesota  State Fair Performance on KSTP  in August 2025. This will be the Rosemount Marching Band’s third trip to the Rose Parade, having performed in 2014 and 2023.
