Rosemount High School Marching Band Invited to Perform at the Rose Parade for a Third Time
ROSEMOUNT, Minn. (Aug. 26, 2026) — The Rosemount High School (RHS) Marching Band is heading back to Pasadena, CA. Tournament of Roses officials delivered the invitation on Wednesday night during a special event at RHS, announcing that the band has been selected to perform in the 138th Tournament of Roses Parade on Jan. 1, 2027.

The formal announcement took place in front of an energetic crowd of cheering students, families, and community members. To mark the occasion, the band put on a showcase performance, demonstrating the exceptional talent and precision that earned them a spot on one of the world’s biggest stages.
This marks the third time the RHS Marching Band has earned an invitation to march in the iconic Rose Parade, following celebrated appearances in 2014 and 2023.

The honor accompanied another big milestone for the band. Fresh off performing at a record-setting opening day at the Minnesota State Fair, RHS
took home top honors at the fair’s marching band competition. The band was crowned Grand Champion for the 14th time and placed first in Class A with an impressive score of 91.6.
Rosemount’s marching band has long been recognized as a power program both locally and nationally. In addition to their Rose Bowl Parade appearances, the band was in the spotlight when they performed in the 2017 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.

Selection for the Rose Parade is highly competitive. A volunteer committee evaluates ensembles from around the globe on musicianship, marching ability, and entertainment value. Tournament of Roses President Terry Madigan visits selected bands across the country as part of a tradition welcoming them into the Tournament of Roses family while community fundraising efforts get underway for the trip.
Congratulations to the Rosemount High School Marching Band directors, staff, and student performers on this incredible achievement.
