District 196 Students Excel at International Leadership Conference

Rosemount,  MN — District 196 proudly announces the remarkable achievements of 19 of its students who attended the 48th Annual HOSA International Leadership Conference (ILC), held June 18–21, 2025, in Nashville, Tennessee. These students competed at one of the most prestigious global gatherings for future health professionals and emerged as outstanding representatives of the district.

The event brought together more than 14,000 participants from seven countries at the Nashville Convention Center and Opryland Resort. Students participated in over 70 competitive events and developed leadership skills through workshops, keynote sessions, and networking opportunities. The opening session inspired all attendees, with a keynote speaker whose heartfelt message resonated deeply with aspiring healthcare leaders.

District 196  celebrated several proud moments during the HOSA Grand Awards Session on June 21. Eastview High School’s biomedical debate team of Anna Rezcallah, Taj Bora, Sayf Aziz, and Evelyn Clark ranked eighth internationally. Their success followed a highly selective written test, in which only 32 teams advanced from a field of more than 200. Eagan High School students Elina Zhang and Chloe Zhang placed in the top 10 percent of the Healthcare Issues Exam, an impressive recognition in a global context. In addition, Sahasra Juvva, a senior at Eagan High School, earned the gold medal for the Barbara James Service Award for completing over 250 hours of volunteer work.

Congratulations to the outstanding students from Eagan High School (EHS) and Eastview High School (EVHS) who participated in the conference. From EHS, we celebrate the contributions of Aishah Ahmed, Tyler Haffely, Nickole Lin, Harjeet Palanikumar, Jonathan Rubin, Isaac Victor, and Gavin Yang. From EVHS, we commend Janet Behailu, Arantxa (Ari) Miranda Morales, Amy Nguyen, Suhaas Pothula, and Charlene Xu for their engagement and leadership. Your dedication, insights, and enthusiasm made a meaningful impact, and we are proud to see you representing your schools and District 196 with excellence.
