Rosemount, Minn – Hunger doesn’t go on summer break. As part of our commitment to the health and well-being of all children, District 196 will again host Free Summer Meals, running June 9 through August 8, 2025. Meals will be served Monday through Friday, excluding June 19 and July 3–4, at the school and community sites below.
This USDA program provides free breakfasts and lunches to all children 18 years old and younger, with no income eligibility or registration required. Simply show up, enjoy a nutritious meal, and fuel your summer adventures!

Meals must be consumed on-site. Both hot and cold options will be available. Service times and locations include:

Educational Benefits for 2025–2026
Applications for the Educational Benefits Program open July 15, 2025. Families are encouraged to apply to determine eligibility for:
- Discounts on school activity fees, testing fees, services, and other program scholarships
- Additional school funding opportunities
Eligibility for Sunbucks, Summer EBT, is determined by a qualifying Application for Educational Benefits and will be distributed by the MN Department of Children, Youth, and Families. For more information: https://dcyf.mn.gov/sun-bucks

Important Information for Graduating Seniors and Departing Families
Seniors graduating in 2025 and students transferring out of District 196 should review their meal account balances. To request a refund or transfer of remaining funds, please complete the:
