GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

(NEW) A NOTE FROM MR. MILLER

During this first week of distance learning, we hope you are adjusting well and getting into a new routine for a new way of learning.  If you have any questions or need support with anything, we are here to help you. Please reach out to your counselor, teacher, staff member, administrator or whomever you would normally talk to at Eastview High School. We continue to be available and ready to help you in any way. By the way, if you want to just reach out and say hello, we are happy about that, too!  You may Schoology message us or email us anytime and we will respond to you. Take care and stay healthy, Eastview!

 

(NEW) ATTENDANCE DURING DISTANCE LEARNING

Students are required to connect through Schoology to their period 3 class (study halls included) and respond to a two question survey to indicate their attendance in our distance learning school day.

This is expected to be completed each day between 7:00am and 1:00pm and once completed will be considered and reported as a full day of attendance. If you expect your student to be absent, please call our attendance phone number at 952.431.8922.

 

(NEW) QUARTER 4 TRANSITION

Quarter 3 will end on Friday, April 10th and Quarter 4 will begin on Monday, April 13th.  PLease check your schedule for Quarter 4 in your Campus app.

Friday, April 24: (no school, finish watching the Netflix catalog)

Friday, May 1: College Day (National Decision Day)

(NEW) NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY APPLICATIONS

For Those of You Interested in National Honor Society (NHS) for 2020-21:

The NHS Candidacy Form will be due on Friday, April 3. All Candidacy Forms should be shared with Mr. Kelly on COLLAB at john.kelly@apps.district196.org.

ARTS & ACTIVITIES 

(NEW) NATIONAL SPEECH & DEBATE ASSOCIATION ALL-AMERICAN AWARD WINNERS

12 Eastview seniors are the 2019-2020 recipients of the National Speech and Debate Association All-American Award!  This recognition is given for both longevity and competitive success in speech and debate, and excellence in the classroom.  Congratulations to the following for this outstanding accomplishment: Jordan Adams, Campbell Bernstein, Samantha Corbett, Anish Dulla, Pavan Guttipatti, Nikhil Kapur, Sony Kika, Mimi Le, Adhvika Malarvannan, Jyotsna Rathinam, Joy Tang, Rohan Vij. 

ATHLETICS

(NEW) TWO EASTVIEW ATHLETES NAMED AS FINALISTS FOR ST. PAUL AREA DOWNTOWN LION’S CLUB ATHLETES OF THE YEAR

Congratulations to Eastview seniors AJ Green and Grace Kisch for being named one of six male and six female finalists for the St. Paul Area Downtown Lion’s Club Athlete of the Year Awards.  

AJ is a state and national standout in Cross Country and Track and Field including being named Gatorade Player of the Year in Track and Field last Spring along with his State Title in the 800 Meter Dash.  

Grace is a state and national standout in Dance Team including being a multiple time State Champion and was also named Miss Dance Team Minnesota. 

The St. Paul Downtown Lions award has been in place since 1943 and has been awarded to a very elite group of athletes including Paul Molitor, Dave Winfield and Joe Mauer on the male side and Natalie Darwitz and Eastview alum Margie Freed on the female side.  The awards and recognition for this prestigious honor will unfortunately not be in person this year, but all finalists will be recognized in the Pioneer Press as they will run a piece announcing the finalists on May 19th. The winners will be announced on May 21st with a Pioneer Press article about the winners on May 22^nd.  Congratulations to AJ and Grace!!
