BUY YOUR CLASS OF 2020 ALL-NIGHT SENIOR PARTY TICKETS NOW!

Graduating seniors are invited to attend the 2020 All-Night Senior Party, a chemical-free lock-in, which takes place the night of graduation, June 6, 2020 (10:00 pm – 4:00 am) at EVHS.  Each year this party is a highlight for the graduating seniors with at least 80% of the class attending.  It is the place to be on graduation night!

If you are looking for the perfect gift to give someone during this gift giving season look no further! The gift of fun and celebration with their friends on graduation night will be a highlight with many memories to cherish for years to come.

Tickets are available at the “early bird” rate of $85 until January 15th.  This is an extension of the previous date of December 31st.

EASTVIEW’S RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS HOLIDAY GIVING DRIVE

This year's holiday giving drive is supporting Eastview's Random Acts of Kindness fund.  EV counselors and administrators use these funds to support students and families in need.  We are seeking to provide gift cards to help families with weekend meals, personal care items, holiday gift giving, and more.  Please consider donating a gift card (or two) from the wish list!  Cash or check donations are also appreciated, and will be used to support Random Acts of Kindness like paying for a student in need to participate in a field trip, purchase a yearbook, or offsetting costs for Behind the Wheel, prom, etc.  You can send donations in with your student and/or drop them off at the West Entry Security Office between the hours of 7:30am - 2:30pm through December 20th.  THANK YOU!

FCCLA SOLES4SOULS SHOE DRIVE

FCCLA is partnering with SOLES4SOULS for a Thanks4Giving shoe drive. Join us in the spirit of the giving season and help us reach our goal to collect and donate 300 shoes.  Now is a great time to clean out your closets and get ready for the new year. We are collecting all types and sizes of new or gently used shoes or even ones without mates. Shoes can be dropped off at the EVHS West doors, Main Office or C139. COLLEGE AND SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

THE EASTVIEW COMMUNITY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION FOR THE CLASS OF 2020 IS LIVE! 

The application deadline is Sunday, February 2nd, 2020! 

The Eastview Community Foundation awards scholarships to graduating seniors of Eastview High School (as well to students who live within the Eastview boundaries completing high school elsewhere -such as the School of Environmental studies and home schooled students).

How to Apply: The Eastview Community Foundation Scholarship application process is completed online. The application and more information can be found for Seniors on Schoology → Class of 2020 Group → Resources → ‘EV Community Foundation Scholarships’ folder.  More details and the full scholarship descriptions can also be found in on the scholarship page of (www.evcf.org).

UPCOMING COLLEGE, UNIVERSITY & MILITARY VISITS

Students should stop by the Counseling Office get a pass to attend the college/university/military Rep Visit prior to the visit in Career Center (located right next to Counseling Office).  These university/college or military visits are small group meetings typically lasting 20/30 minutes.  These admission reps are often times the same people that review college applications, so it's a great connection for students.

ATHLETICS

(NEW) LDT TAKES FIRST AT CONFERENCE MEET

The Lightning Dance Team competed at Eagan High School in their final South Suburban conference meet of the season last night. The Varsity kick team placed 1st overall with perfect ranking scores!

Varsity, JV and B-squad will all compete again this Saturday for the South Suburban Conference Championship title. The championship will be hosted at Eastview High School. Come cheer on all three teams at home this weekend! Doors open at 10:30 am.

 

(NEW) AVEV GYMNASTICS COMPETE AT EAGAN

On December 17th the Apple Valley/Eastview Junior Varsity and Varsity Gymnastics team took on the Eagan Wildcats at Eastview. AVEV junior varsity compiled a team score of 114.70 to Eagan’s 120.30 and varsity scored 126.675 with Eagan scoring a 136.875. Numerous AVEV gymnasts placed in the top five on events.

The AVEV Gymnastics team is off to a great start and compete again on January 7th at Eastview against Lakeville North.

 

(NEW) EASTVIEW HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS VARSITY HOCKEY BEAT PRIOR LAKE HIGH SCHOOL 4-1 

December 17- The girls varsity traveled to Prior Lake Tuesday night and defeated the home team 4-1. Chloe Benadum scored her first varsity goal early in the first period to get things started. Jessica Wilhelm made it 2-0 for the Lightning later in the first period with assists to Natalie Bordson and Brynn Swenson. Avery Chesek scored an unassisted goal in the second period. Swenson sealed the deal with an empty net goal late in the third for the victory! Lauren Johnson had 20 saves for the win. The Lightning head into Winter break with a 8-4-1 record. The girls travel to Farmington Dec. 26-28 for a holiday tournament. 

 

(NEW) EASTVIEW HIGH SCHOOL COED VARSITY SKIING FINISHES 5TH PLACE AT VARSITY RACE #1 - GIRLS 

December 17- The Eastview Alpine girls ski team finished fifth at the first varsity event of the season on Tuesday evening at Buck Hill. Leading the way for Eastview was Katelyn McClure whose times on her two runs differed by only .02 seconds. Finishing .81 seconds behind Katelyn was 8th grader Megan Young.

Also earning points for Eastview were senior Caroline Oberle, and sophomore Lilly Spade who started off a run of close finishes for Eastview skiers. Lily Ringold finished just .81 seconds behind Spade, with sophomore Kylie Nelson finishing just .39 seconds behind Ringold and sophomore Ellen Heunisch finishing .45 seconds behind Nelson.  Emma Huppert was also just .28 seconds behind Heunisch to finish off the Eastview cluster.

The Eastview ski team will be off until after the winter break with the next meet scheduled for January 7th at Buck Hill at 4pm. 

 

(NEW) EASTVIEW HIGH SCHOOL COED VARSITY SKIING FINISHES 7TH PLACE AT VARSITY RACE #1 - BOYS 

December 17- The Eastview Boys alpine ski team finished in seventh place at the first varsity meet of the season at Buck Hill on Tuesday evening.

Leading the way for Eastview was senior captain Ryan Whalen who finished in eleventh place overall and nearly matching his times on both runs after having to run a third time due to a timer malfunction. Also earning points for Eastview were freshman skier Noah Rolling who bested his first run by five seconds on his second run for his first varsity meet, Nicholas Leichner who finished .8 seconds behind Rolling, and freshman Ginny Ward. 

 

(NEW) EASTVIEW HIGH SCHOOL BOYS JUNIOR VARSITY BASKETBALL BEAT BURNSVILLE 83-46 

December 17- The Eastview JV Boys Basketball team beat Burnsville 83-46 on Tuesday night. A back and forth first half saw the Lightning take a 36-32 late in the half. A quick surge had the Lightning take an 11 point lead at half. On the first ten possessions of the second half, the Lightning scored on eight of the possessions to extend the lead while holding the Blaze to 3 points. The Lightning put the clamps down and held the Blaze to 14 second half points for the win. Kenji Scales and Grayson Stalboerger scored 14 points and 13 points respectively in the first half, while Bennett Scheuring added 13 points and Aryan Kohli and Henry Shannon scored 9 points each. Next up for the Lightning (4-1) is an away game at Minnetonka on Thursday. Go, Lightning!

 

(NEW) EASTVIEW HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS JUNIOR VARSITY HOCKEY BEAT PRIOR LAKE HIGH SCHOOL 1-0 

December 17- It was an overtime nail biting shutout win over Prior Lake last night for Eastview Girls JV! Although Eastview was outshot 20 to 14, great goaltending by Angie Lombardi kept the game scoreless going into overtime. A goal by Chloe LaPlant 1:49 seconds into overtime gets Eastview the win! 

 

(NEW) EV NINTH GRADE WRESTLING ROSEMOUNT/HASTINGS DUALS 12-17-19

The EV Ninth Grade Grapplers concluded their dual meet season by competing against both Rosemount and Hastings on December 17, needing to win at least one dual to qualify for the Ninth Grade Team State.  Seventh-grader Landon Odegard, Josh Yoo, Ezra Formaneck, Ethan DuPont and Daniel Pacheco paced the 9th graders with their pins and Nolan Enderlein won a nice 6-2 decision to help the team win a satisfying 51-30 victory over Rosemount. Nolan Enderlein, 8th grader Landon O’Neil and Daniel Pacheco each earned a pin fall against their Hastings opponent for the only wins as Hastings prevailed 54-18. Congratulations to the ninth grade Team for qualifying for the Ninth Grade Team State in late January! The Ninth Grader’s next competition as a team is not until Saturday, January 4 where they will host their own Duals Tournament. Happy Holidays!

 

BOYS LACROSSE MEETING

Boys Lacrosse – Wednesday, December 18 @ 600 pm in the PAC – Player & at least 1 Parent Meeting – Annual Parent meeting for Boys Lacrosse will be next week and will focus on planned activities and fees for the upcoming Winter and Spring seasons.  Booster Club members and Coach Caines will be present, so please join us.  Winter lacrosse is free to all players in good standing with the Booster Club – What does that mean?  Pay your Booster Club fee now and you are in good standing.  Show up as early as 530 pm to pay your fee prior to the meeting or contact mkemper@kemperlaw.com if you want to pay in advance.  New players and parents always welcome – It is never too late to start!

MANDATORY BPA MEETINGS

There will be a Mandatory BPA meeting for all members to receive Region Competition details on Wednesday in room C239.  Two time options:

Before school at 7:00 a.m. or immediately after school.
