This year's holiday giving drive is supporting Eastview's Random Acts of Kindness fund.  EV counselors and administrators use these funds to support students and families in need.  We are seeking to provide gift cards to help families with weekend meals, personal care items, holiday gift giving, and more.  Please consider donating a gift card (or two) from the wish list!  Cash or check donations are also appreciated, and will be used to support Random Acts of Kindness like paying for a student in need to participate in a field trip, purchase a yearbook, or offsetting costs for Behind the Wheel, prom, etc.  You can send donations in with your student and/or drop them off at the West Entry Security Office between the hours of 7:30am - 2:30pm through December 20th.  THANK YOU!

(NEW) EASTVIEW HIGH SCHOOL VARSITY HOCKEY BEATS SHAKOPEE 1-0
The Boys Varsity Hockey team earned their first conference victory of the season by defeating Shakopee 1-0 on Tuesday evening.  In front of a sold out crowd at the AVSA, the Lightning peppered the Sabers goalie with 30 shots but were only able to muster one goal for their efforts.  One a very nice passing play by Cullen Johnson and Josh Eernisse, Ryan Quaintance finished the play with his fifth goal of the season and eventual game winner to put Lightning in the lead for good.  Bennett Weestrand was solid in net and backstopped all 28 shots thrown at him by Shakopee to earn his third win of the season and first shutout of his senior campaign.  The RJ Ryan Construction three stars on the game;  #3 star Ryan Moline for stepping up in his expanded role on the Eastview blueline, #2 star is the Lightning penalty killers including Caden Berg, Will Leach, and Dylan Abboud, and the #1 star Bennett Weestrand for blanking the Sabers between the pipes. Next up for the Lightning is a non-conference home game against the #18 ranked Wayzata Trojans on Saturday night at 6pm.  #whateverittakes; #22-3; #nohoopsletspackthebarn

(NEW) EASTVIEW HIGH SCHOOL VARSITY HOCKEY BEATS SHAKOPEE 1-0
Eastview (1-4-1) dropped a close game to Shakopee 3-2 Thursday night at Apple Valley Sports Arena.  EV had the better of the play in the first period but was only able to net one goal.  Sophomore defenseman Nate Stephenson scored at 14:13 to put the home team up 1-0 (assists went to sophomore forward Walker Bergland and sophomore forward Cody Domagalski).  Shakopee tied the game early in the second period with a power play goal but EV regained the lead 2-1 on a goal by Domagalski (assisted by Bergland and junior defenseman Nick Lombardi).  EV paid the price for several penalties in the third period as Shakopee scored two more power play goals to overtake EV and win 3-2.  EV sophomore goaltenders Connor Christian and Max Leach posted 10 and 6 saves respectively.  Next up, EV hosts Wayzata at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday at Apple Valley Sports Arena.

The Eagles built a two possession lead and held it for most of the second half, before a Lightning charge that included three-pointers by Jack Pepin, Aryan Kohli, and Brady Schmitz and Henry Shannon scoring in the paint. Down two points with 7 seconds left in regulation, the Lightning passed the ball to Shannon in the post and he scored with one second remaining to tie the game. The Eagles scored first in the overtime before Bennett Scheuring drained a three-pointer to take the lead. After a Lightning defensive stop, the Lightning controlled the ball before an out of bounds call.
