MOMS & NEIGHBORS

Since its inception 10 years ago, Moms & Neighbors has raised more than $250,000 for teens and families in ISD 196.

We work closely with local school counselors, social workers, church advocates, and law enforcement. We want to be an additional tool in their tool box to provide local families or teens with the assistance they truly need, while respecting their privacy.

Assistance can range from grocery and gas gift cards, clothing, to payment of an overdue bill. Though what we give varies as much as our recipients’ needs, it is always rewarding and surprising to see how powerful an anonymous act of kindness can be.

If you are interested in helping this holiday season, click on the link or contact Angie Talbot, the Eastview Moms and Neighbors Kindness Ambassador.

ATHLETICS

FALL POSTSEASON UPDATE

Here is the FINAL update on our FALL Teams and how they are doing in postseason competition as the last fall tournament concluded this weekend! No worries as all of our Winter Activities are now officially underway as of this week!

CI and PI Soccer: Congrats to the CI Dakota Hawks who advanced to the State Tournament in CI Soccer for the first time since 2014 and had quite the showing!  The CI team had a tough loss in the opening round against #1 Seed (and eventual State Champion) South Washington County.  The CI Hawks rallied for two wins on Saturday (5-2 over Park Center and 3-0 over St. Cloud) to claim the State Consolation Championship!  The CI Hawks finished the year with a 10-4 record with 3 of their 4 losses coming to the two teams who played in the State Title game.  Eastview Varsity players who were members of the State Tournament Team include: Deshawn Bascomb Collins, Thomas Christopherson, Roman Garza, Cloe Kraus, Masen Lucynski, and Heaven Young-Harry.

The PI Hawks competed in the last game of the fall season and took home the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!  They did so in dominating fashion and finished the year 14-1.  The Hawks defeated Mounds View/Irondale/Roseville 19-0 and Minneapolis 8-1 to advance to the State Title game against St. Paul Humboldt.  Humboldt was the defending State Champs and also was responsible for the Hawks only loss on the season. The Hawks used incredible teamwork and passing along with swarming defense to defeat Humboldt 5-2 and claim the State Title!  It was the 7th for PI Soccer and 22nd overall for the Hawks program!  Eastview team members include: Will Davidson, Eddy Nelson and Daniel Sonnenberg!  Congrats Hawks!

Reminder to follow @EVHSathletics on Twitter for the up to the minute updates!  I will also keep you posted about how all of our Winter teams are doing as seasons continue to get underway and we will recognize all of our fall team and individual success at our next pep fest on December 6th!
