(NEW) EASTVIEW GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS TAKE 6TH AT WASECA INV
On a flat course yesterday, the Lightning had an amazingly good day. The girls CC squads both finished 6th out of 24 teams at the Waseca Invitational. The course was flat and fast. There were too many personal records set to mention. Congratulations on a strong meet. The Lightning will next run at Eagan High school next Friday for the South Suburban Cross Country Championships.
(NEW) EASTVIEW VARSITY BOYS SOCCER CLINCHES SSC CHAMPIONSHIP
Varsity Boys’ soccer traveled to Eagan to take on the Wildcats Thursday night. Your Lightning played well despite cold conditions, starting with a goal from Senior Jacob Salmon off a free kick. Freshman Nick Karam found the back of the net shortly after. The Lightning scored again to seal the win. (NEW) EASTVIEW GIRLS VARSITY VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO EAGAN HIGH SCHOOL 3-0
The varsity volleyball team lost a tough battle with the top ranked Wildcats losing in 3 sets. The Lightning gave them all they could handle in the first set. There were many lead changes and great rallies, but the girls came up short losing 23-25. In both the second and third set, the team battled well, but gave up a couple short runs of points that proved to be the difference losing 17-25 and 18-25. Senior Libero Caylee Christian and junior outside hitters Emma Grimm and Lauren Crowl led the charge for the Lightning.
The girls are back in action on Saturday at the Hopkins Royal Invite tournament. The next home match is next Tuesday when the Lightning host the Lakers from Prior Lake!
(NEW) MUDFEST ENDS IN A DRAW
Your boys JV soccer team faced crosstown rival Eagan last night in a cold, wet, muddy match. Eastview midfielder Sean Harris was the first to get the Lightning on the scoreboard when he picked the upper corner on a penalty kick. This was Harris’s second consecutive game with a goal.
Eagan kept pace with Eastview, scoring a goal each half. Lightning forward Eli Hansen helped keep Eastview competitive with Eagan putting in the Lightning’s second goal of the evening. Eastview ended the night in a 2 to 2 tie with the Wildcats and ended the season with 7 wins, 8 losses, and 2 ties. A big congratulations on a successful season and thanks to the boys and coaches for your hard work and good attitudes!
