Transportation to and from Graduation
To Graduation:
ALL graduates are required to take the school bus from EVHS to Mariucci Arena for graduation. You may not drive yourselves to the ceremony (nor can you ride with your family). Please note that storage is not available for purses, bags etc. on the bus or during the ceremony. Please keep such items in your car at EVHS or with a family member.
From Graduation:
Bus transportation back to EVHS is not required; returning with family is recommended.
Attire and Etiquette
EVHS takes pride on having a quality and sophisticated ceremony. We ask our graduates to celebrate this formal ceremony with the following recommendations:
Cap and Gown Details:
IMPORTANT: To provide a formalized group ceremony that celebrates our school/district's academic achievements, only approved regalia and that which is a result of an academic honor by participating in a District 196 program or that is cultural regalia approved by school administration before graduation, can be worn at the ceremony. No other hat or graduation adornments should be worn other than those provided by the school/district. Do not alter and/or decorate the caps or gowns – You will NOT be allowed to wear them in the ceremony. (Students in the District 196 American Indian Education program are an exception and permitted to bead caps.)
Footwear:
Comfortable shoes for standing and walking should be worn. Dress shoes or dress sandals, flats or wedges are recommended. If wishing to wear heels, we advise that you wear wedge or platform style. The carpet in the arena is not the friendliest to stiletto style heels.
Clothing:
We encourage you to dress in business casual or formal attire. The arena is air conditioned. When not in your cap and gown, you should be dressed for the formality of the occasion.
Etiquette:
§ This is a formal occasion and your behavior should reflect as such
§ No beverages, food, or chewing gum
§ Do not bring items that would distract from the ceremony
Everyone has worked hard to get to this celebration and should have an equal opportunity to be recognized and celebrated.
