Fall Play
The Fall Play is the first production of the year at Eastview and can greatly change in type of show, cast size, and size of production from massive to intimate. At Eastview, we try to give a variety of different shows to performers and technicians to provide students the wide breath of theatre as we know it. One year it could be a heart wrenching drama that we perform with the audience on the stage to achieve maximum intimacy and the next it can be a ridiculous farce which only has the goal of making the audience laugh. Auditions for the fall play take place at the end of the previous year.

A.R. Gurney’s Pulitzer-nominated comedy is set in a typical well-to-do household where a family assembles daily for breakfast and dinner and for any and all special occasions. The action is comprised of a mosaic of interrelated scenes that are woven together—some funny, some touching, some rueful—which, taken together, teach us a great deal about ourselves and our families. 18 scenes and 59 characters combine to create a hilarious mirror into which we can view ourselves.

Now a teenager, he disguises himself and sets off on a journey of his own, replete with adventures and rites of passage.
