About The Eastview Math Team
In Math Team we solve some of the greatest mysteries in the world. These mysteries are in the form of Minnesota Math League tests. We trek the deepest reaches of the math world using just a pencil and sometimes a calculator and probably paper. We will teach you some of the exotic math that you might not learn in your regular math class. Anyone and Everyone who loves math should do math team. Those of you who aren't too fond of math come anyway; we have food and who knows maybe you will find out that math is your thing.
Math Team runs from mid October to mid March, with a meet once a month.
Meets consists of four events: Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Miscellaneous, plus a team event. A team is made up of 8 math gurus (participants) who each do 2 events at a meet. Two of these gurus must be underclassmen (9th U 10th graders).
Math Team practices the first day of the week and the last day of the week from approximately 2:45 pm until 3:30 pm. Practice are not mandatory (though highly recommended), so if you are busy with other activities, we can accommodate your schedule.
Math Team Tournaments go from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the latest. Bus rides to and back are provided, except for meets held at district 196 schools.

About The Mock Trial Team
The Eastview High School Mock Trial Program is a law-related education program which introduces students to the American legal system and provide a challenging opportunity for personal growth and achievement. As part of the mock trial program, students will exercise in a real-life setting their critical thinking abilities, as well as the basic skills learned in the classroom.
Through participation in mock trials, students gain a practical understanding of the way in which the American legal system functions. While learning the details of trial process and procedure, students also develop important lifetime skills: critical analysis of problems, reasoning, listening, oral presentation and extemporaneous argument. Mock trials provide an active learning opportunity for students and require a high level of cooperation among participants.

Meeting Times

The Eastview High School Science Olympiad is a program devoted to improving the quality of science education, increasing student interest in science, and providing recognition for outstanding achievement.
Team competition is patterned after track tournaments with challenging and motivational events ranging from earth science through physics. Events range from hands-on labs to student built machines, from outdoor events to paper and pencil tests. There is also a balance between events requiring scientific knowledge and understanding, and others requiring process and application skills. Although some events require an individual from one team to compete against other individuals from other schools, most events require teamwork, group planning, and cooperation. The emphasis is on learning, participation, interaction, having fun and team spirit.
Schools compete with a team of up to 15 students. There are two major tournaments: regionals and the state tournament. The top 30 teams from the regional tournaments around the state compete at the State Science Olympiad held at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul. The top team in the state advances to the National Science Olympiad held in May (or two teams if enough teams register). There are two divisions, a Jr. High/Middle School (B Division) and a Sr. High (C Division). Last year over 14,000 elementary and secondary teams from the United States and Canada competed in the Science Olympiad program. The Official National Science Olympiad Web Page can be viewed at www.SOinc.org.
